To be honest, we were a little concerned to be going to Bali, especially after the various warnings there had been, suggesting another terror attack around the Christmas period. As it turned out, it was one of the safest places in the Asia Pacific region. We watched the news come in of the Tsunami aftermath and it did feel strange to be so near, yet so far away from it all.

We stayed in Villa Kubu, which was a small complex of only seven very private villas. Sadly, like our visit to Koh Samui, we suffered a little bit from going during the monsoon season. Still, the villa was quite a comfortable place to spend time and watch the rain !

Water symbolises good luck, so we had lots of it !

You had to remember to jump into the swimming pool, and throw the fish food into the lily pond.....

........not the other way around !

Bali is a very religious place..... We were watched

over in our villa by various friendly Gods.....

It was quite special at night, sitting in the open air bale. You just had to be careful not to fall into any of the above mentioned water !

Merry Christmas and goodbye from Bali !
