The sleepy little village of Crolles lies in the Alps in the South-West of France.

What a great place to build a wafer fab !

We were able to enjoy the mountain views without leaving our apartment. The hotel across the road from us was named "La Dent de Crolles", which translates into "The teeth of Crolles" Not quite sure exactly why, but that's just France for you.

The nearest large town of Grenoble is known as the skiing capital, and for good reason. Within a few hours drive you could ski down a different mountain every day, until eventually you are killed by either an avalanche, or a snowboarder !

The French typically put work down as the 9th or 10th priority in life, so it takes a bit of time to adjust from the Asian mindset, where schedules are defined in days, hours, and minutes. The French, if provoked for long enough, will give due dates only in seasons. But still they allow themselves a little margin as they will not disclose which year they are referring to when they give the precise due date of "Summer"

We only spent 2 months there, which was a much shorter time than we expected, but that's the problem with these very accurate Asian plans....they often get turned upside down before you can say "Bon Voyage !"

Met loads of nice people, and hope to go back before the end of the year (Asian schedule permitting)
